Taskwing Privacy Policy
Taskwing is made by Oluma Software. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use Taskwing on your Mac.
In short: Taskwing has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. We never receive your automations or any other data about you. Some features send data from your Mac directly to a service you choose; this page lists every one of them.
What stays on your Mac
- Automations, projects and timer sessions are stored in a file inside Taskwing's own sandbox folder on your Mac.
- Settings are stored in Taskwing's preferences on your Mac.
- API keys for AI providers are stored in your Mac's Keychain.
- Triggers. To start automations, Taskwing watches your battery level, whether the charger is connected, the time of day, and which apps open and quit. It only compares these with your automations; it does not record them or keep a history.
- On-device features never send anything anywhere: Apple Intelligence (the default AI provider), Ollama and LM Studio running on your Mac, Keep Awake, Project Timer, Battery Alert, Flash Screen, notifications, alerts, Speak, volume, Copy to Clipboard, opening apps, and running automations from Shortcuts, Siri and Spotlight.
- Export CSV writes your timesheet to a file and place you pick.
- Purchase and trial. Buying Taskwing and checking that this copy was bought are handled by the App Store. Taskwing checks the App Store's signed purchase record on your Mac; it never sees your Apple Account or payment details.
What leaves your Mac, and only when you use it
| Feature | What is sent | Sent to |
|---|---|---|
| Building or changing an automation with AI, with a provider other than Apple Intelligence, Ollama or LM Studio | The sentence you type, the current automation when you change one, and the list of triggers and steps Taskwing supports | The provider you set up in Settings → AI (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, OpenRouter, or your own server), under that provider's own privacy policy. Taskwing does not use an online provider until you accept its privacy notice |
| Add to Shortcuts | The automation's steps, as a Shortcut file | Apple, through the macOS shortcuts tool, which signs the file so the Shortcuts app will import it |
| Open URL step | Nothing beyond a normal visit | The web address in the step, opened in your browser |
These requests go straight from your Mac to the service. They never pass through any server of ours, and we cannot see them.
Children
Taskwing does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
